SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR ON ENHANCING THE QUALITY OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER TRAINING AT HOA LU UNIVERSITY

Hoa Lu University recently held an enlightening seminar aimed at enhancing the quality of elementary school teacher training. The seminar, titled "Enhancing the Quality of Elementary School Teacher Training at Hoa Lu University," took place on April 8, 2023 at the university campus. The event was in accordance with the annual academic plan, Plan No. 192/KH-ĐHHL, issued by the Rector of Hoa Lu University on November 22, 2022. This initiative showcases the university's commitment to providing high-quality education and contributing to the development of effective teaching methods in the elementary education sector.

Overview of the seminar

The seminar was attended by a diverse group of educators, researchers, and experts in the field of education such as: leaders from Hoa Lu University, Hanoi Pedagogical University, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2; Ninh Binh Department of Education and Training, the leaders of district and city education departments, teachers from elementary schools, lecturers who are currently teaching students majoring in Elementary Education at Hoa Lu University. Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Vu Van Truong, Party Secretary and Rector of the University, emphasized the requirements of educational reform and the 2018 General Education Program, which demands that educational institutions continuously improve and enhance the quality of training. Hoa Lu University, with over 60 years of experience in training elementary school teachers, has consistently strived to improve the quality of education and gradually solidify its position, reputation, and training excellence. The Rector expressed great gratitude to the leadership comrades of the Departments of Education and Training, as well as the leaders of district and city education departments. He also expressed his appreciation to the leadership of elementary schools throughout Ninh Binh province, who have collaborated closely with Hoa Lu university in the task of training elementary school teachers, particularly in coordinating practical internships and field experiences in various primary schools.

Several key topics were covered during the seminar, such as "Some Experiences in Developing Occupational Adaptation Skills for Pedagogical Students in Alignment with the Training Program at Hanoi Pedagogical University 2"; “designing Math lessons to develop creative capacity for primary school students; developing creative capacity for primary school students using experiential activities”, “Evaluating the current situation of elementary school teacher training at Hoa Lu University in the period of 2017-2022, the training program development, achievements, limitations, recommendations for improving the quality of primary education student training in the future."

The attendees have also engaged in meaningful discussions, sharing insights, and exploring innovative strategies to improve the training of elementary school teachers such as: Issues regarding practical requirements for educational reform and orientation in elementary school teacher training to meet the 2018 primary education curriculum; coordination between training institutions and educational management units, primary schools in organizing practical activities, and internships for students; factors influencing teacher training at the university level.

The seminar is a practical and meaningful activity aimed at promoting the implementation of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW dated November 4, 2013, by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (11th term), and Conclusion No. 51-KL/TW of the Central Committee Secretariat on continuing the implementation of Resolution No. 8 of the 11th Central Committee Conference on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training. The seminar is also aligned with the celebration of the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023), and the 137th International Workers' Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2023), as well as commemorating 201 years of the title "Ninh Binh" (1822 - 2023) and the 31st anniversary of the province's re-establishment (April 1, 1992 - April 1, 2023).

The seminar was a great success. The discussions during the seminar have practical significance in contributing to the improvement and enhancement of the quality of elementary school teacher training. The success of the seminar has strengthened the connections and collaborations among universities, colleges, educational management agencies, and primary schools. The scientific content, advanced experiences, and proposed solutions will be carefully considered by the organizers for appropriate implementation in reality.
