I. GENERAL INFORMATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
The Department of Student Affairs is one of 19 units of Hoa Lu University, established on 05/10/2007 under Decision No. 2354 / QD-UBND by People Committee of Ninh Binh Province.

II. FUNCTIONS AND TASKS
- Consulting and assisting the Rector to manage full-time students, including: organizing the student's admission; arranging classes based on majors; assigning the classes; managing students’ records; educating politics, thought, morality, and lifestyle for students; implementing policies for students according to the State’s regulations.
III. ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. Administrative organization for students.
- Organizing to receive the candidates to study with the Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- Arranging classes, electing class managers, making student cards.
- Doing a good job of statistics, data synthesis, dealing with administrative affairs related to students.
- Coordinating to organize graduation ceremonies for students.
- Administrating regulations and forms of students’ work with the current regulations.
2. Organizing and managing students’ learning and training activities.
-Monitoring and evaluating students' learning and training, classifying and ranking students.
- Organizing emulation activities, giving awards to the groups and individuals that have reached high achievement in study and practice, and disciplining students who violate the rules and regulations.
- Educating the students' ethics of life, organizing the week of civic activities.
- Organizing a periodical dialogue between the university and students,
- Coordinating to organize cultural and sports activities and other extracurricular.
3. The implementation of policies for students
- Implementing the State’s policies and Regulations on scholarships, tuition fee exemptions, social assistance, insurance, student credits and other regimes related to students.
- Directing and taking cares of the disadvantaged students, students suffering from natural disasters and the students in category of policies
4. Political security, order and safety against crime and social order.
- Cooperating with all sectors and levels of local government to ensure university safety, politics security, order for students and resolving timely cases related to students.
- Launching the university safety movement, propagating about traffic safety, drug prevention, firecrackers' use and storage.
- Organizing the ceremony for students to sign the commitments not to violate the road traffic law, not to violate the Regulations of law
5. Externs’ management, medical and physical management
- Registering addresses for externs, appointing staff to manage externs.
- Coordinating with the Healthcare and Environment Center to organize health examinations, to ensure a clean environment and to guarantee food safety for students
- Providing the students with facilities to practice and improve their health.
III. ACHIEVEMENTS
- The first prize of the provincial contest "Ninh Binh students with traffic safety" in 2012.
- The third prize of the contest "Ninh Binh students with traffic culture in 2015".
- Participating the national mathematical Olympic for students 3 times and won the 1st prize, 2 second prizes, 4 third prizes, 3 consolation prizes.
- Coordinating to organize cultural and sports activities to celebrate the anniversaries and the local events.
- Being awarded the title "Excellent Labor Group" by the People's Committee of Ninh Binh Province in the school year 2007-2008 and the school year 2010-2011.
- Being awarded Certificate of Merit by the People’s Committee in the school year 2011 - 2012.
- Receiving the Certificate of merit on the movement "Protecting the Security of Country" by the provincial police in 2010
3. Some orientations of the Department:
- To be the reliable unit for students at the university.
- To improve the capacity of staff
- To focus on vocational guidance, job introduction for students, and career skills for students.
