THE BOARD OF DORMITORY MANAGEMENT

I. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE BOARD OF DORMITORY MANAGEMENT

The Board of Dormitory Management was established on February 4^th 2009, consisting of some staff from the Department of Student Affairs and some staff from the Department of Administration and Management.

Staff:

- 01 doctoral candidate

- 07 bachelors’ degree

- 03 associate’s degree

II. FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

-Organizing and managing the student’s residence in the dorms with the current regulations

- Arranging the security guards to protect the dormitory 24/24.

- Administrating the resident contracts as well as the temporary resident contracts for students

- Coordinating with the Department of Administration and Management to manage the dormitory’s facilities in terms of maintaining, examining periodically, repairing. - Associating with the Center of Healthcare and Environment to organize and implement public hygiene, disease prevention, food hygiene and safety in the dormitory, too.

- Cooperating with the Department of Student Affairs and other political and social organizations in the university to organize activities to train morality, politics, culture, art and sports for students in the dorm.

III. ACHIEVEMENTS

- Arranging for nearly 4000 students, especially for 40 Lao students (since 2011) to live and study in the dormitory.

- Administrating the land, offices and other properties in the area of dormitory. Coordinating with the local authorities and government to promptly handle any issues

- Consulting the university leaders to renovate the facilities of the two zones of the dormitory.

- Collaborating with the Center of Healthcare and Environment to administrate and maintain the sanitation of the dormitory, provide health care and treat for students in sudden illness.

- Accompanying with the Youth Union, the Students’ Association to organize the movement to build cultural rooms, sport and arts competition.

- Giving presents to the poor students who are good at studying.

- In 2012, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Luu was awarded Certificate of Merits by the Minister of Education and Training.

- In 2009, 2011, 2012, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh was awarded the Certificates of Merits by the Central Union. Especially, in 2012, the Central Committee donated him "Commemorative Medals for the younger generation".
